2009 Manjiro Summit
-
Some
of you have asked me for the latest information on this year's
Japan-America Grassroots Summit (Manjiro Summit) that will take place
in Miyage Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo. I have just been given the
website that can give you all the information you need, including cost
(basically $2,300 from Denver) and dates (July 27 - August 3, 2009).
Miyagi is one of the most scenic parts of Japan with some of the best
foods in Japan (in fact it is known as the "Food Kingdom"). I
understand you will have 15 local sessions to select from.
I know that this year's Summit (the 19th Grassroots Summit) will be one of the best ever because of its location,
all the many festivals, great foods, abundant nature, some of the most beautiful scenery in Japan, and wonderful people.
Please check out what is planned by going to:
http://www.manjiro.or.jp/eng/summit/nextsummit.html
You can print out a pamphlet with more information by going to:
http://www.manjiro.or.jp/eng/summit/files/miyagi_summit_brochure.pdf
FYI, Mr. Nobuyuki Mori (Managing Director for the Center for International Exchange in Tokyo) and his assistant
Ms. Hiroko Todoroki are expected to visit Colorado Springs sometime in March or April to hold a meeting for all
who are interested in attending the Summit, and bring you the latest news as well as answer your questions.
I will let you know when they are expected to arrive as soon as their schedule is firm.
I hope, as always, many Coloradoans will be able to attend this year's Summit!
Absolutely everyone is welcome to participate in the Summit!
